DESCRIPTION

This relief carving depicts the Battle of Megiddo in 1457 BCE, commemorating the day Canaan trembled, likely referencing Pharaoh Thutmose III's military campaigns. The composition features a powerful pharaoh in a war chariot drawn by ornate horses, wielding a bow and arrow while commanding troops into battle. Surrounding the central chariot scene are numerous soldiers, some on foot and others engaged in combat, along with a fortified fortress structure visible in the background. The top of the relief contains a cartouche with hieroglyphic inscriptions, while decorative lotus and papyrus motifs frame the bottom border. The intricate carved details showcase the sophisticated artistic style typical of New Kingdom Egyptian temple reliefs, capturing the grandeur and military prowess of ancient Egypt's imperial period.
